Event Overview

Join Certified Cicerone and beer judge Jeff Whelpley as he transforms eating cookies and drinking beer into learning the basics of food and beer pairing. We'll pair six different flavors of Girl Scout cookies with six different beers and discuss why the pairings were chosen.

Participants will learn how to use food and beer pairings to add extra dimensions to their drinking experiences. Jeff will also talk about beer history and share trivia for each beer style covered in the session. This will be interactive, as Jeff will ask the participants to provide their impressions of the pairings.

Beer will be provided by Chicago brew pub Horsethief Hollow Brewing Co. Drink local!!

Prerequisites

- 21+ only
-Try not to smoke a few hours before the class starts. Actually, please quit smoking. It's bad for you.
- Refrain from eating spicy foods the day of the class.
- Do not use scented soap or scented hand-sanitizer prior to the class.
- While most of these beers aren't necessarily high in alcohol, please arrange for transportation. Don't drink and drive, that's bad for you, too.
