Arts & DIY
Making beautiful Italic Script starts with getting the fundamentals down first. In this class, your instructor Dan Cotton, will show you how to make the proper letterforms. We will practice making the lowercase alphabet with a pencil first. Then we will move on to a broad-edged calligraphy pen; when the fun begins, your lettering will come to life. This class will set you up to learn more advance calligraphy styles, such as pointed brush and quill pen.
Handouts will be provided.
The class will be approximately 3 hours.
If you would like to get a head start by familiarizing yourself with the italic lowercase alphabet, I can email it to you before the class. You will need to email me at dcotton2@q.com, and I will email the attachments back to you.
All ages welcome

Dan learned the traditional calligraphy styles early on. After college he learned pointed-brush lettering and started his career as a commercial lettering artist. His lettering now can be made with a brush, pen, marker, or drawn and then refined with computer software. He is delighted to pass on his considerable knowledge to you.
