Event Overview

Do you have a hard time recycling beautiful glass bottles? Learn to transform used wine bottles into a self-watering planter. The creative folks at Perennial will demonstrate safe ways to cut glass bottles using techniques you can replicate at home. Learn an easy and eco-friendly way to remove adhesive residue with SoyGel. In class, you’ll practice scoring and cutting glass with Perennial’s handmade glass cutter tool in combination with a hot/cold water bath. Decorate your home with these upcycled creations, or give as a handmade gift.

This is an in-person class that will take place in Perennial’s outdoor educational garden, and may move indoors if we have inclement weather. You will be assigned your own socially distanced work station, and will be required to wear a mask while you are here. Our full policies can be found here.

I had so much fun doing this, I went a little wine bottle crazy. Great class, easy to follow instruction and made several fun, unique pieces.

It is upbeat class and great place to practice popping bottles. There is not technical and it isn't a detailed process, but this class gives you a place to work and practice on popping bottles. You will likely not find out anything new about the process that you haven't already found researching already, but what you get is the space, material, and guidance from the instructor to learn and practice which makes it worth the time.

The teacher was wonderful, very knowledgable, patient and thorough. The class was harder than I expected. I am happy with my take home project, but we were exhausted at the end of the night! It wasn't the fun relaxing girls night that I anticipated but I definitely learned a lot have 2 cool wine bottle planters to display at home.

Very cool class. Learn to etch on various glass cutters and how to safely pop the glass in half and how to reuse the bottles for other crafts. Fun for a group.
